In pursuing our ambitious goals, we ask a lot of questions. Why have we been so successful? What decisions do we make which have the greatest impact on our continuing success? What actions will truly make us a great company? Our questions consistently give us the same answer. Great companies, have great people.
Our formula is simple: Create a great team by hiring the right people no matter how hard we have to look to find them. Challenge them, hold them accountable, respect them, reward everyone well, invest significantly in personal and professional growth, and work really hard to give everyone a place they can truly be happy. From this formula, exceptional results appear.
At Simply Marketing, we spend a lot of time making sure the people we hire are right for the role and our company, but also that we are the right company for the candidate. For this reason, we use a selection process which is quite thorough. The goal of the process is to give both the potential candidate and the company a very good idea of what to expect down the road. Our hiring process typically takes 2-4 weeks to complete, but can be fast tracked to be completed in as little as 4 days.
Although there are many steps that happen behind the scenes, from the candidate.s perspective, the process is conducted in 6 steps:
Application
Because of the large number of applications we receive, we use an automated applicant tracking system to receive and track candidate applications and correspondence. When you apply, you will be asked to upload your resume and verify that is accepted accurately into our system. If you would like to include a cover letter when you apply, you can either include this in the same document as your resume or you can upload it separately through an option to upload any additional documents you may want us to see. Before completing your application, you will be asked a series of questions about you and your goals. Although these questions are optional, they are very helpful in determining whether or not you will be happy working with our company. When answering, please be as honest and open as possible.
Phone interview
The next step in our hiring process is the phone interview. After submitting your resume, the hiring manager and one of our recruiters will review your application for fit with the available position(s). If they determine there is a fit, one of our recruiters will contact you to conduct a phone interview at a mutually convenient time. Depending on the position you are applying for, you may be asked to complete a short 15 minute personality profile prior to the phone interview.
First in-person interview
Following your phone interview, you will be asked to provide a list of references for us to contact. Based on the results of contacting one of your references, and your phone interview, the hiring manager will make a decision to call you in for the first in-person interview. This interview gives the hiring manager the opportunity to ask questions about your application and phone interview as well as giving you the opportunity to ask any questions you have about the position and the company. Depending on the position, at this time you may be asked to write a short in-person competency test and/or other test specifically designed for the competencies of the role.
Second interview
Following the in-person interview, the remainder of your references will be contacted. Based on these reference checks and the first in-person interview, both parties will know if the opportunity is worth pursuing. Your second interview with our company will be much more detailed, with you and the hiring manager chronologically reviewing the details of your past positions and future expectations.
Final interview - The panel
Reaching this step, you have been deemed to meet or exceed the qualifications required for the position we have open. This, the final step of our process, gives you the candidate a chance to meet a selection of company management and some members of the team you will be working with. During this time they will ask you a number of questions and you will have an opportunity to ask any one attending, any questions which have remained unanswered. In most cases, the president also attends the panel, and often extends a welcome invitation for you to interview him.
Offer
As the successful result of a panel interview, you will receive a written offer letter from our firm within 24 business hours following the panel.
